Reasons to Consider an Iron Panel

Iron is a naturally occurring, essential mineral required by the human body for physical growth, neurological development, hormone synthesis, cellular function, (Dutt 2022) and many other processes. (Barney 2023) The body also relies on iron to create hemoglobin, a protein found in red blood cells that transports oxygen from the lungs throughout the body. (Barney 2023)

An iron panel can be a valuable laboratory assessment tool to evaluate insufficient or excessive iron levels in the body.
